WOM was founded and began manufacturing replacement parts for major manufacturer’s gate valves.
1985
WOM designed, manufactured, successfully tested, and patents the first Magnum Gate Valve featuring a Dual-Seal™ seat that is energized by line pressure to form a metal-to-metal seal against a floating slab gate.
1986
WOM designs and manufactures Magnum Dual-Seal™ Gate Valves and Actuators for Drilling and Production Applications.
1989
WOM establishes a manufacturing facility in India to support WOM facilities worldwide.
1991
WOM acquires a manufacturing facility in Aberdeen, Scotland, now known as WOM-UK.
1992
WOM qualifies for and becomes ISO 9001 certified.
1994
WOM acquires a BOP manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas to manufacture and remanufacture annular and ram type BOPs.
1996
WOM designs, manufactures, and patents the Magnum Dual-Seal™ Subsea Gate Valve with a Hydraulic Fail-Safe Actuator for subsea drilling applications.
1997
WOM establishes a Forging facility in India to support WOM facilities worldwide.
1998
WOM qualifies for API 17D certification (Subsea Christmas Trees). WOM successfully tests the Magnum Dual-Seal™ Subsea Gate Valve with
Hydraulic Fail-Safe Actuator to a simulated depth of 11,000 feet.
1999
WOM establishes a Casting facility in India to support WOM facilities worldwide.
2000
WOM introduces the world’s 1st Patented Dual-Seal Ball Valve.
2002
WOM introduces the world’s 1st 7-3/8” 10,000 psi wp Patented Lightweight Subsea Intervention System for deep water applications.
2003
WOM India adds (17) CNC Machines/Centers to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
2004
Magnum Forge undergoes major expansion to increase production capacity from 500 tons per month to 1,000 tons per month.
2005
WOM employs more than 850 employees worldwide WOM expands product line-mud valves and snubbing units. WOM introduces the new Magnum Dual-Seal™ Subsea Gate Valve for production. The only subsea valve tested to 13,000 feet of water depth.
