    WOM Established

    Worldwide Oilfield Machine Inc. (WOM) established in Houston, Texas.

    1985

    Magnum Dual Seal Gate Valve Patented

    The Magnum Dual Seal Gate Valve is patented. The Magnum name quickly becomes synonymous with reliability and performance in the oil & gas industry.

    1986

    Magnum Gate Valves and Actuators Manufactured

    WOM designs and manufactures Magnum Gate Valves and actuators for drilling and production applications.

    1989

    WOM India Established

    WOM India established in Pune, India. Today, this facility is the backbone of the WOM production line.

    1991

    WOM UK Established

    WOM UK established in Aberdeen, Scotland serving the North Sea and Europe.

    1993

    WOM Achieves ISO Certification

    WOM achieves ISO certification and signs a global contract with a major well-test company.

    1994

    WOM Adds BOP Production Capabilities

    WOM acquires BOP manufacturing company and begins to produce annular and ram-type BOP’s.

    1996

    WOM Introduces the Magnum Subsea Gate Valve

    WOM introduces its patented Magnum Subsea Gate Valve with fail-close/open actuator.

    1997

    Magnum Forge and Machine Works Established

    WOM further vertically integrates with the establishment of Magnum Forge and Machine Works in Pune, India.

    1999

    Magna Casting Foundry Established

    • Magna Casting Foundry established to provide steel castings for the WOM group
    • WOM ME Established

    2000

    Introduction of the Dual Seal Ball Valve

    WOM’s patented Dual Seal Ball Valve is introduced. With two independent seals on both the upstream and downstream sides of the valve and the option for an additional 3rd seal, WOM’s Dual Seal Ball Valve brings the industry the performance of a gate valve at the cost of a ball valve.

    2002

    WOM Introduces patented Subsea Intervention System

    WOM introduces the world’s first 7-3/8” 10K Subsea Intervention System for deepwater applications.

    2004

    WOM Expands to Asia

    WOM continues to expand globally, establishing a presence in Singapore to serve the South-East Asia market, while patenting its Advanced Technology Magnum Dual Seal Gate Valve.

    2005

    WOM Celebrates 25 Years of Service

    • WOM celebrates 25 years of service in the oil & gas industry
    • WOM successfully tests, to API standards, a 15K subsea gate valve at a depth of 13,250 feet

    2007

    WOM South East Asia Established

    WOM South East Asia (WOM-SEA) established giving the WOM group heavy assembly capacity in the region.

    2008

    WOM Increases Capacity

    WOM increases its production capacity up to 1,000 gate valves, 500 ball valves and 10 BOP’s per month.

    2009

    WOM Expands to New Markets

    • Magnum Subsea Systems (Now WOM Asia Pacific) established in Singapore, specializing in subsea projects. WOM collaborates with Helix and builds its unique Slim Bore Drilling Package for offshore drilling
    • WOM expands its capabilities in Dubai, establishing the Magnum Technology Center (MTC) to support WOM equipment and provide complete well-testing package solutions for its customers

    2010

    WOM Assists with BP Macondo Incident

    WOM provides a dual block fail-safe subsea Magnum Gate Valve to successfully assist capping the exposed well in the Gulf of Mexico following the BP Macondo Incident. The U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Mr. Ken Salazar, personally visits WOM’s Houston facility and inspects WOM’s well containment device.

    2011

    WOM Adds Machinery & Expands Infrastructure Worldwide

    WOM expands its facilities worldwide, adding over 350,000 sq.ft. of covered area and invests millions in high-tech machinery and infrastructure.

    2012

    WOM Adds Third Facility in Houston

    • WOM expands into a third facility in Houston to accommodate its RRS, Controls, Sales, Assembly, Testing and Shipping departments
    • WOM successfully completes PR Level 2 High Pressure, High Temperature testing of the patented Magnum gate valve
    • WOM signs a master contract with Exxon-Mobil to be part of their approved vendor list
    • Magnum Forge increases capabilities by producing all bodies in closed dies
    • WOM ME & MTC expand to a 12,000 sq mtr shop floor
    • MTC delivers the first newly designed, trailer-mounted well-test package to EDGO-CAMCO

    2013

    WOM Unveils State-of-the-Art R&D Facility in Houston

    • Construction completes on the cutting edge Research and Development Testing Facility in Houston, Texas. WOM expands the Houston Subsea Department to a fourth facility in Houston
    • WOM patents the “split-block” trunnion concept found in its revolutionary Model 40 Ball Valve
    • The first WOM SPII Compact Wellhead is successfully installed on a well in Myanmar. MSS receives special recognition from Santos for delivering work ahead of schedule and under-budget.
    • MSS and Helix collaborate to develop a unique Lightweight Intervention System
    • WOM continues to increase capacity with a custom-built thermal welding machine, allowing up to 20 gates to be hardfaced at a time
    • WOM further increases  its global footprint with regional office in Jakarta, Indonesia
    • WOM provides a Subsea Intervention Lubricator system to Helix

    2014

    New Houston Facility for SIS Assembly and Repairs Completed

    • A high clearance, high capacity facility opens in Houston to allow for Subsea Intervention System assembly and repairs in a controlled environment
    • WOM establishes a regional office in Ashbagat, Turkmenistan
    • Magnum Subsea Systems re-brands as WOM Asia Pacific.
